Tuscany and Umbria

Last summer I was fortunate enough to be invited to the wedding of two good friends in Italy and decided to make a holiday of it by spending a few days exploring Tuscany and Umbria.  I am usually adverse to publishing my holiday snaps for all and sundry to see, but in this case I will make an exception. These regions have some of the most stunning and unique architecture in the world and unfortunately most of my shots simply didn't do any justice to my surroundings.

For those who ever visit, I recommend a wide angle lens. With narrow streets, tall structures and difficult angles, photographs will seldom capture the full picture.  Of course, you could also do the unthinkable and put the camera away, soak in the atmosphere and concentrate on the amazing food and wine instead. I'm glad to say that was something I resigned myself to doing relatively quickly!
